BORN/DEAD The Final Collapse CD
(Prank)
Born/Dead are as always delivering a solid release - solid in quality and solid in sound. Ten tracks of half thrashy, half crusty hardcore tunes with a full, yet somewhat crispy raw, sound. Actually it's eight tracks plus outro that is "The Final Collapse", with one extra track originally on their split 7" with Peligro Social. Adding an extra track or two is common practise when it comes to the CD releases of this band and I personally think that's great. I'm a vinyl person myself so I already had the track, but those who prefer CDs aren't missing out on anything. And you don't want to miss out on anything when it comes to Born/Dead.
The music isn't very fast but has a real good drive to it and it sort of forces itself forward where the dual vocal deliveries that more or less never ease up are a big part of this forward bulldozing. When I think about it I guess it could be described as quite fast as it's all but slow, but it's a matter or personal opinion and depends on what you compare it with really. Either way they put forth good strong material on here, whatever speed, just as on their previous outputs.
When it comes to describing the style of Born/Dead in detail I find it a bit difficult to narrow it down and say they play or sound this or that way. I don't think you can say they're influenced too much by a certain style or period in time; they just play their hardcore punk like that want to - charging and powerful. I've compared them to Behind Enemy Lines earlier, and I still think this is a valid comparison, only Born/Dead are somewhat more aggressive and thrashy.
Worth mentioning is that they cover the Cress song "Sirens" which might not be the most expected choice of bands to cover, but still a damn good one. [Krogh - February 24, 2008]

ADRENICIDE Kill CD
Endless Brutality of Men Records

A site for self development for the post modern hippie discusses the concept of when “enough is enough”: “Enough can describe quantity or quality, depending on the subject or object”. Adrenicide released “Kill” last year as their fourth album in three years, and to top it off, the released yet another full length last year. To put it bluntly, on this release they clearly excel in quantity, and fail miserably in terms of quality.

VON BØØM Punkrockterrorists CD
F.D.A. Rekotz

I was pretty impressed with the material Von Bøøm presented on their split with Motorbreath and any fears of a band that returns after two decades and completely ruin any heritage was soon washed away. What this means is that I approach this CD in a different manner as I already know they can deliver, so this time I expect quality instead of just hope they won’t loose their dignity...

ASSASSINATORS/D.S.B. split 7”
Alerta Antifascista/Halo of Flies Records

At first look this might seem as an odd pairing of bands, and I agree. I still think it’s somewhat strange, but that doesn’t stop it from being two good bands for the price of one so it’s really a good deal.

Danish Assassinators continue to deliver the melodic punk they’ve proven to be very good at in the past.

TERRORSTAT/TWISTED SYSTEM split CD
Endless Brutality of Men

Eighteen tracks in thirty-six minutes and a Swedish - American crustcore team-up with two bands that I think would have benefited from doing separate releases.

When a bands’ style is described as raw, rampant crustcore with a couple of heavy mid-tempo breakdowns it could just as well be a way of tip-toeing around the fact that they don’t have so much to offer as it could mean...
